Sage advice, yet seldom taken. In this day and age of technology it's rare to have downtime from TV's, iPods, cell phones etc. It's rare to spend time out of doors walking in the trees. It's rare to find someone who won't spin the truth to fit their purpose. When you run across someone who has one or all of these qualities, its like a breath of fresh air. You may not be able to put a finger on it, but you know something is different.

Good Earth, Black Tea with Tropical Peach
![]() |
| I just found this exact teapot at the Goodwill for $3.99! |
~~Chinese Proverb.
Who has not failed? Really? I know that I have lots of times. When I look back at the past, I don't regret the failures as much as I do giving up. Hindsight being 20/20, you know after you quit just how close you were to being successful. Granted, there are times when you have to stop some activity for your own health or sanity. Mostly, I have stopped just because I am tired of the repetition or because I convince myself that if I take a break I will start back up. Seriously. What a bad idea.
Keep going. Keep moving forward. Each day you will be closer to succeeding. When you fall, pick yourself up, dust yourself off, take a deep breath and don't stop.

Yogi Blueberry Slim Life Green Tea
" Together we can do what we can never do alone."
My family has been going through some tough stuff recently. One of the truths we have been profoundly struck by is that we can do anything if we stick together. Whenever tempers get hot, or personality clashes threaten to strike, I remind them that we are powerful--together. I may be strong. But if I add my husband, daughters and sons to the mix, I am POWERFUL!

Teabag Tag and Fortune Cookie Wisdom
Last night I had dinner at LeeAnn Chin's, usually I don't pay much attention to the bland and oft times silly fortunes inside the cookie. But last night I had one that made me think.
"Be not simply good; be good for something."
Hmm... That one is good enough to ponder I thought, so I brought it home. Before bed, I made myself a cup of Yogi Ginger tea. The teabag tag also was interesting and close enough to the fortune cookie tag that you could not ignore the power of both.
"If you see good, learn something. If you see bad, learn what not to be."
This was no coincidence. I have yet to puzzle out what I am supposed to do, but the messages can't be ignored. I am going to meditate this.

Good Earth, Black Tea, Tropical Peach
"When the heart is at ease, the body is healthy." Chinese Proverb.
I wish it were that simple to have good health. Chinese Medicine does have a point though. We can't find health if our spirit/heart is troubled. We can't sleep well, we don't eat well, we don't take care of ourselves like we should so we don't have optimum health. When we take care of our spirit, we are taking care of our mind.

the body is a temple. take care of it. ginger Yogi Tea
I used to be confused by this. How could your body be a temple. This same idea is repeated in the Bible. But several years ago it started to make sense. It's not about worship or divinity. It's about caring enough about yourself to treat yourself as sacred. It's taking care of yourself so you can take care of the world. It's about loving and being loved. You take care of your car, you change your oil and filters, fill'er up at the gas station ($2.79 a gallon yesterday! Can you believe it?!!) Pay a mechanic money to tune it up or repair it when needed. How much time and energy do we spend on our bodies. Women spend more time worrying about how imperfect they are. When was the last time you were thankful that your legs carried you through a stressful day? How often do you really think about what you are eating? I have never been a stick thin gal. I will never be tall and lithe and supple. But I can take care of myself. I can love myself as I am enough to feed myself good food, exercise regularly and get enough sleep. It's like chicken soup for the body and soul. Slow down, have a cup of tea and a heapin' helpin' of teabag wisdom.
